The Playlist Shuffle Tag

Surprise! I bet you thought you were done with these tags, didn’t you? Well, you would have been mistaken. Sorry! I have a few left in my inbox to delve into. I should save them for when I go back to uni and don’t have much time to read, but that’s not for another month and a bit, so I thought why not?

This particular tag, which I got from the lovely Donna over at ChocolatenWaffles, is all about music. And since I don’t get to talk about music much, I thought I would give this a go. And plus, this way, you get to know a little more about what I listen to while I’m sitting at my keyboard and typing out my posts.

Here are the rules:

#1 List the first 10 songs that come on shuffle (ABSOLUTELY NO SKIPPING)
#2 Then write your favorite lyric (or verse) from that song
#3 Tag others

Well…let’s get started shall we?

  1. Time & Confusion” by Anberlin
    When memories fade
    We’ve got each other
    When time and confusion collide
Singin’ I hold it all when I hold you
  2. Take It Back” by Ed Sheeran
Now I don’t ever want to be perfect
Cause I’m a singer that you
    Never want to see shirtless
And I accept the fact that someone has to win worst-dressed
  3. My Happiness” by Powderfinger
So you come in and put your bags down
I know there’s something in the air
How can I do this to you right now
If you’re over there when I need you here
  4. Got A Lot O’ Living To Do” by Elvis Presley
Unfortunately, this song was written during a period that was not really the best for women. So, although Elvis will forever and always be The King, the lyrics to this song would now be classed as sexist. So I think my favourite lyrics to this song are the title. Because, really, don’t we all have a lot of living to do?
  5. Don’t Trust Me” by 3OH!3
Tell your boyfriend if he says he’s got beef,
That I’m a vegetarian and I ain’t fucking scared of him

  6. ALPHADog and OMEGAlomaniac” by Fall Out Boy
Welcome to the new déjà vu.
I can almost see the wizard through the curtains.
  7. Fences” by Paramore
    I’m sitting in a room
Made up of only big white walls
    And in the halls
There are people looking through the window and the door
They know exactly what we’re here for
  8. Mercenary” by Panic! At The Disco
I dodge the blast, and apologise for collateral damage
  9. Save Tonight“by Eagle Eye Cherry
Cause all we need is candlelight
You and me, and a bottle of wine

  10. Do or Die” by Thirty Seconds To Mars
Fate is coming, that I know.
Time is running, got to go.
Fate is coming, that I know.
    Let it go.
    Here right now
Under the pattern, if ever we dream out loud
Do or die, and the story goes
    On… on… on…

I’ve included YouTube links to all of these songs. Some of these are official video clips and others are lyric videos. If any of those lyrics grab you, have a listen.

As for who I tag…I tag anyone who wants to do this tag. I kind of hate the whole tagging people in things thing, because I feel like I’m excluding people. Although I do understand where it comes from.

So have fun! And tell me…do you like any of these songs?

About Bec Graham

Bec Graham, 24, was born on the wrong continent. Everything from her burns-like-paper skin tone to her inability to cope with the slightest hint of a hot day suggests she should have been born under the gloomy skies and mild sun of the UK. She hopes writing will get her to her rightful home one day. Failing that, she scans the skies for a spinning blue police box, hoping to catch a lift back to the motherland.

  1. Donna says:

I love that the titles combined make sort of a story 🙂 Great picks!

  2. Tanya Goffy says:

I’ll do this some time! Some of these are from artists I like but the songs are a bit harder than I listen to. Eagle Eye cherry is new to me but I love Save Tonight, especially the lyrics “Save Tonight and fight the break of dawn.”

    • Bec Graham says:

My musical tastes vary from bands like Escape The Fate to people like Michael Bublé and Ed Sheeran! But ‘Save Tonight’ is a beautiful song 😄
      Thanks for stopping by!
